PAINTINGS
Paintings and drawings from the landscape centre on the Upper Eden Valley and the shores and hills surrounding Ullswater in the Lake District, Cumbria, northwest England.
The paintings are in oil on both canvas and oil paper created in the studio from drawings and studies made on location. I choose oil paper with a linen finish this suits the way in which I build up my paintings in thin layers.
I got to know the Eden Valley and the landscape surrounding Ullswater through innumerous walking expeditions. Besides establishing favourite haunts walking always brings you into contact with the unexpected.
